Robot cells from our film archive

A robot cell on the TSM stand at MTE 2018

TSM Robotic and Automation, working with OTC Daihen and the ASD Robotics Group, designs jigs and complete robot cells for automotive plants, metal fabricators, kitchenware makers and heavy industry. These are some of the cells we have filmed over the years.

Spot welding a seat frame

A robot carries the spot welding gun around the frame and places each weld in turn.

Welding a frame structure

An arc welding robot works through the joints of a frame structure.

Handling for metal stamping

A handling robot working with a stamping press inside a guarded cell.

Sheet metal bending with a tool changer

An OTC Daihen FD-166 robot with a tool changer handles sheet metal through the bending process.

Finishing: de-burring, grinding and polishing

The robot presents each part to the finishing stations, so the result is the same on every piece.

Casting and de-sanding

A robotic system for cast parts, including the de-sanding process.

Why put a robot on the line

  • Higher, steadier productivity
  • A programmable robot takes over repetitive work that otherwise needs a skilled worker
  • One team for the jig, the cell, after-sales support and operation management
